Namit Malhotra's "Ramayana" trailer was globally released on July 30, 2026, offering a spectacular, 4-minute and 9-second look into one of Indian cinema's most ambitious projects. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, "Ramayana" is structured on an unprecedented scale and is set for a worldwide theatrical release during Diwali 2026. In "Ramayana", Ranbir Kapoor stars as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash (who also co-produces) features as the formidable Ravana. "Ramayana" ensemble also includes Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The background score and original soundtrack of "Ramayana" are a historic collaboration between Academy Award winners Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman. "Ramayana" VFX is spearheaded by the 8-time Oscar-winning studio DNEG alongside Prime Focus Studios. The film has been shot specifically for IMAX screens. "Ramayana" Part 1 is scheduled to release in theatres globally on November 8, 2026. "Ramayana" Part 1 focuses on the early life of Lord Rama, his marriage to Sita, and the events leading up to his 14-year exile. The concluding chapter of "Ramayana" - the historic two-part cinematic saga is slated to release exactly one year later, during Diwali 2027.
