Heilung is waking up.
After more than a year on hiatus, Heilung will return to Lava Studios in October 2026 and begin work on our fourth full length studio album expected delivery sometime in 2027.
We must depart from the present to Amplify history into the future
When Heilung creates its magic, we do so by fully immersing ourselves in our bubble by closing the doors to the noise of the outside world, which these days, between automation and conflict, seems louder than just a few years ago.
Heilung means healing in German. It describes one of the absolute core agendas for our project: to heal. Because healing is needed and has always been needed. The path the band has taken, and will remain committed to, is deeply rooted in history, spirituality and art. It will not be influenced by any modern ideology, trend or form of automation. Heilung lives between all this. It lives in the imperfections between the perfect, it lives in the grass and, sometimes, thorns beneath our bare feet, it lives in laughter, crying, love and fear. Everywhere you focus, there’s a door that leads to healing. Heilung guards this door and welcomes you inside.
In the meantime, one more thing… ;)
We’ve dug up something from the past that is now finally possible to share with the world. This is no ordinary Heilung release. This is something special.
About eight years ago Heilung began collaborating with the computer game developers Ninja Theory. This led to a long intensive and hyper creative period focusing on the crossroads between the vast Icelandic landscapes and the innermost intimate corners of the human mind.
Some of the sounds we created found its way to the computer game now known as Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga, however many sounds did not. Until now…
Later this year, the songs of our travels from deep underground ice caves, over bursting volcanos, through endless lava deserts and into the very depths of our own minds, will be released in its raw entirety. We call it Sagas
So, while you wait a little longer for the next official Heilung album, we hope you will enjoy this amplified gift from the past.
