Then a giant concrete pipe starts rolling straight toward them.
Zack is screaming.

Completely calm.
When Zack asks why,
Milo simply says:
“It doesn’t help. It just hurts the larynx.”
Then the bungee snaps,
they tumble downhill,
and one accident leads straight into another.
Finally Zack understands:
The J-word is “Jinx.”
The best part is:
Zack thinks Milo just has a bad reputation, but within two minutes he realizes disasters literally follow this kid everywhere—and Milo is already completely used to it.
