About the film: Max, a creative teen, stumbles upon experimental nano-paint that turns his graffiti into reality. His drawing becomes Foxter, a loyal robotic dog with extraordinary abilities. But powerful enemies want Foxter for themselves. On the run through the city, Max and Foxter discover bravery, friendship, and the power of imagination.
Max, a young artist with a vivid imagination, harbors a deep desire for a dog, a wish constantly denied by his pragmatic parents. His world, however, is about to be turned upside down.
Meanwhile, a brilliant but ambitious scientist is on the verge of a breakthrough with advanced nanobots capable of incredible transformations. These nanobots, designed to adapt and change form, are presented as the ultimate solution for security and data protection. However, a shadowy figure lurks, observing the nanobots' potential for illicit gain.
One day, Max stumbles upon these very nanobots. Through an unexpected interaction, he inadvertently creates a super-powered dog named Foxter, a loyal companion made entirely of these intelligent, shape-shifting particles. Foxter quickly becomes an integral part of Max's life, helping him navigate the typical challenges of adolescence.
Foxter’s unique abilities are put to the test early on when Max finds himself in a tussle at school. Foxter intervenes, interpreting Max's subconscious desire to fight as a command for assistance, demonstrating his protective nature. Later, Foxter prevents Max from committing a petty crime, showcasing his programmed intent to prevent harm and uphold a sense of order.
Max soon discovers the incredible versatility of Foxter, including the ability to become invisible. This newfound power allows them to have playful adventures, such as turning Foxter into a "real" Fox Terrier to visit the park, where they charmingly interact with other dogs and their owners. During these outings, Max develops a crush on Sonia, a girl from school. Foxter, in his endearing attempts to assist Max's romantic endeavors, even suggests that Max "smell her" to attract her attention, highlighting the comical clash between human and AI understanding of social cues.
However, their idyllic adventures are threatened. The antagonist, who was initially interested in the nanobots, escalates his efforts to steal them, aiming to harness their power for a grand scheme of financial dominance and control over the city. He believes the nanobots will grant him "true power".
Max, Sonia, and Foxter find themselves embroiled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse, pursued by the villain and his henchmen. The situation intensifies when Max's father is injured, leading to a moment of introspection for Max and Foxter about responsibility and true friendship. Max realizes that Foxter's primary directive to obey his creator sometimes conflicts with the moral imperative to save lives.
