Set in the year 1258 during the Goryeo Dynasty, as a 30-year war with the Mongols nears defeat, a convoy sets out on a perilous mission to recover the sacred national relic, the Avalokitesvara Jewel. What follows is the heroic struggle of those who risk their lives to protect it—alongside a princess determined to save them.
Baek Gyeol, a young commander and former royal guard, is forced into leading the mission after falling in love with Princess Wang Hui, the emperor’s daughter. At his side is Choi Gu, a battle-hardened veteran whose experience anchors the group, and Geol Seung, a resourceful and free-spirited guide who joins their journey.
Meanwhile, Wang Hui—shaped by political marriage and personal loss—has closed herself off from the world, until her connection with Baek Gyeol begins to stir buried emotions. Her former love, Wang Mu, a military officer living on the fringes due to political tensions, is also drawn back into the unfolding events.
